Michael A. Barringer-Mills

Michael Barringer-Mills is a Field Support Manager with the American Refugee Committee International, having experience in both HQ and field roles supporting complex humanitarian emergencies. From 2004-2007 Barringer-Mills worked in various capacities with Médecins Sans Frontières – Doctors Without Borders. He has managed a broad range of projects for European and American NGOs, including direct relief activities addressing infectious disease outbreaks, trauma/war surgery, severe malnutrition, and widespread sexual violence. In this work, Barringer-Mills conducted multiple impact assessments, rapid population assessments, and program evaluations, using quantitative methodologies from public health, demography, microeconomics, and other social science disciplines. Field assignments included Sudan, Uganda, Nigeria, and Pakistan. In addition, he has worked as a grants, budget, and compliance analyst on numerous USAID, BPRM, and United Nations awards.

Barringer-Mills has an M.P.P. in Advanced Policy Analysis and a graduate minor in Demography. He has conducted research and taught extensively and speaks proficient German and French and basic Sudanese Arabic.
